Our Story
Welcome to Rad Book Haus, a dream on wheels fueled by a passion for literature and community. Our mission is to spread the joy of reading and to bring you stories that matter—and to have a little fun while we do it.
The word "Rad" is a nod to two things we love. It's a shout-out to that retro, laid-back cool that makes a book feel like a cozy, rainy-day companion. And it's a call to action. We believe books are radical, and that words have the power to challenge, change, and inspire us. We're committed to promoting and carrying books that are often challenged, because we believe that all stories deserve to be told.
We're a bookstore for the mood readers, the collectors, and the people who want to fall in love with reading again. We're a little bit of everything, but our books are hand-picked with care, because every book is a discovery waiting to happen.

We are an online bookstore with a vision. Our books are for the people who want to read for fun, for education, and for the joy of getting lost in a story. We’ll bring you the books that are trending now, the timeless classics that deserve a spot on your shelf, and a unique "Blind Date with a Book" experience that is all about a personalized surprise. Each wrapped book will include a few extra bookish goodies, because a fantastic story deserves an equally fantastic vibe.

Our core mission is to become a bookstore on wheels, bringing our pop-up shop to a community near you. Our hope is to be fully mobile by mid-to-late 2026, and we'll be sharing the journey with you every step of the way.

Hi, I’m Angela!
My love for books started in childhood, inspired by my grandma, who is an avid reader. I enjoy a wide range of literature, with some of my favorite authors being Taylor Jenkins Reid and Sarah J. Maas. What I love most about being part of the book-selling community is sharing my passion for reading, helping people find their next favorite book, and building connections through literary discussions.

Opening a bookstore requires a lot of overhead costs. A mobile bookstore allows us to cut down on those costs while still making our dream come true. It also allows us the flexibility to change locations and attend different events - making book buying a unique and fun experience for our customers.

Yes, you can get your books from Amazon, but there’s nothing like browsing a bookstores shelves with a drink in hand and helping a small local business. We’re also able to curate our selection to the wants of the community and build personal relationships with our customers.

In addition to new and used books, we have bookish goodies like bookmarks, reading journals, stickers, totes, and more. With our Loyalty Card, each purchase gets you closer to special discounts. We also offer Blind Date with a Book, an online Book Club, special events, and more.

Donations will go towards the purchase of the truck, building out the shelves, our opening inventory, vendor/license fees, and any other startup expenses. Any donations will help aid us to make our bookstore the best possible for our community and keep us open as long as possible.

Our goal is to open Mid-2026. This is dependent on factors such as obtaining the truck, shelves, inventory, etc. We will post and ask for community feedback along the way and will post updates as we move towards opening. You can join and follow along on our instagram.

I hope one day we do! We would love to open a brick-and-mortar if that’s what the community wants and if there’s a market for one in our area. Right now our focus is on making Rad Book Haus mobile a reality and building a community of book lovers!
